Aisyah and Baby Adam's Holi Holiday
Recently Aisyah, Baby Adam, their Mama and Abah went on their yearly trip to Tanjong Jara. This time round, though, they brought along Jiddah and Halah.
The car journey was very long but Baby Adam was very very well-behaved. He only stirred for his milk and once satisfied, went back to sleep. Aisyah too slept and only woke up during pit stops.

After hours and hours of driving by Abah, they finally reached their destination. While they waited for the second room to be ready, Aisyah gave a guided tour to her Halah. She knew where everything was and what there was to see and do!
On the first day, they rested (it was a looong drive, remember?). They had lunch overlooking the sea and then went for a massage.

Aisyah and Baby Adam then swam in the pool. It was Baby Adam's first time in the pool. He was apprehensive initially but after a few minutes, warmed up to the idea of having his body soaked. It was so fun to see him coo and gurgle.

On the second day, they went out to shop for batik. When they went back to the resort, again they lounged and ate and ate and ate. Baby Adam, thankfully, slept during their meal times so his Mama was very happy to be able to eat in peace.

Finally, it was time to leave the lovely resort and head to the city. On the last day, the night journey again was rather peaceful. Baby Adam's Mama felt that her baby really roughed it out on the trip. He could endure hours of bumpy car and stroller rides, be changed at the strangest of places when there were no nursing rooms available, be fed from the strangest positions in the strangest of places, slept in unfamiliar territory and spent hours outdoors open to the elements. Phew!
Overall, it was a very pleasant trip and Aisyah and her brother had a lot of fun.

Baby Adam Goes to the Doctor
One Saturday morning, Baby Adam with his Abah, Mama and Big Sister, went to the doctor to get his first shot. It was a beautiful place full of toys and bright colours. When his name was called, the nice nurses tried to take his weight and height. Taking his weight was not a problem but getting him to stretch to measure his height was quite difficult.

After that, they went in to see the doctor. The doctor was a nice rather elderly man who did a thorough check on him. He checked his mouth, his head, his body and even his 'tuckus'. He also mentioned, much to Baby Adam's amazement, that Baby Adam was in the 90th percentile for his height and 75th for his weight.

After the doctor gave Baby Adam a clean bill of health, he sent Baby Adam to get his shot. He was a brave little baby there, crying loudly only for a few seconds.

Baby Adam's next visit would be in two months time and they all can't wait for the next visit - Aisyah to play in the playroom, her Mama just to get out of the house, and his Abah to eat thosai after that. ;)

Aisyah and Adam at Home
Aisyah's Mama thought that she has only one baby, but as it turns out, she has not one but two babies. At home, Aisyah's Mama has a wonderful day taking care of Baby Adam while Aisyah goes to school for the entire day. Only when Aisyah is back then will the noise start.
One day, Aisyah did not go to school as she refused to wake up. Sigh. The day was rather difficult for her Mama as she has to give a lot of attention to both Aisyah and Baby Adam.
Baby Adam on that particular day was cranky and refused to sleep. In desperation, her Mama again put him in his rocker and proceeded to rock him. Never did she expect Aisyah to come to her and told her that she too wants to be put in her rocker and be rocked.
So there their Mama was, rocking and rocking and rocking. For once, the room was silent as Aisyah fell silent to the hypnotic rhythm of the rocking chair. On and on their Mama rocked - her right hand rocking Baby Adam, her left rocking Aisyah. Now, their Mama's attention naturally focused on the baby. After a long silent time, their Mama turned to look at Aisyah and lo and behold found Aisyah fast asleep. Baby Adam on the other hand was wide awake and staring at his Mama. Sigh. Aisyah fell asleep on her rocker for a long time and Baby Adam was wide awake for a long time before he could fall asleep with his sister next to him. Sister and Brother. Their Mama hopes that their friendship will be as smooth and lasting.

Aisyah and her Dentist
One day before Aisyah's Mama delivered Baby Adam, they went to the dentist. Aisyah first started going to this dentist earlier in the year when her Mama discovered huge holes in her molars. Aisyah was afraid of dentists. The last time they went to one, Aisyah was like a mad woman and her Mama and Abah too became scared of bringing her to the dentists. Left with no choice, her Mama had to fork out a whole lot more of money and send her to a paediatrist dentist. It was worth the money! Now, Aisyah isn't afraid of the dentist (or at least with this one) and her teeth are all properly fixed.
This is Aisyah sitting down waiting for her dentist to come in.

During the treatment, Aisyah would look up at the ceiling, with her shades on. What is on the ceiling is a tv screen and on that day, she requested for WInx club cartoon. She got her wish.

Compared to the other dentists, with this one, Aisyah allowed him to prod and poke inside her mouth even with sharp looking objects. Aisyah talked a lot! Unlike her Mama who hated the dentist when she was Aisyah's age, Aisyah loved her time with Dr R. In fact, with all the attention Dr R gave her, her Mama thought that her little girl may have a wee bit crush on her dentist! Ha ha. Her Aisyah is growing up.

However what Aisyah liked most from these visits is the free toy that came after a treatment. The toys she chose of course would be destroyed on the very same hour itself!

Thankfully for her Mama's pockets, the next visit to the dentist is 6 months later.

Baby Adam with G6PD
Right after Baby Adam came into the world, he was told that he might be deficient in a certain enzyme and had to be hospitalised for 14 days. His Mama and Abah were real disappointed but for the health of the newborn, bade goodbye to him and went home. They were back the next day and the next and the next.
One day when they went to visit Baby Adam, they found him under the UV light machine. The next day, Auntie Shamyn and Munirah went to visit him. Baby Alysa met Baby Adam that day and thought that he looked cool in his Billyband glasses.
Two weeks later, Baby Adam still had jaundice but it wasn't so bad and he was discharged home.

Aisyah Welcomes Baby Adam
Aisyah's Day on a Boat
One not so fine Saturday, Aisyah went to a birthday celebration on a houseboat (essentially a boat hotel). She brought with her all her swimming gear. However, it was not only raining on that day, it was pouring. There was strong wind, thunder and lightning. Children, being creative little monkeys that they are, would not let a wet day ruin their fun. Aisyah played fiercely with her cousins on board that deceptively tiny boat. She climbed on the bunk beds, went through corners and rooms, hid in cupboards, ran up and down the stairs, pretended to navigate the boat at the wheel etc etc. Luckily, there were enough adults to keep an eye on her so that her Mama could have a nap and basically, sat like a bum till nightfall.
Here are pictures of Aisyah before the sky turned dark. Her Mama was too exhausted to take photos of her and her cousins playing this time round. It was a very very fun day for Aisyah and she wished she could sail away on the boat to the islands. Next time Aisyah. Next time when you become a doctor... ;p

Aisyah Goes to School ...For Real
Year 2009, or at least the first quarter of the year, proved to be a rather challenging time for Aisyah and her Mama and Abah. Their solid as a rock, easy as a pie routine for the last four whole years was gone like the wind with Aisyah's commencement of Kindergarten. Plus both her Abah and Mama switched jobs/work places too. It was a morning mad rush at home and at work.
Initially, Aisyah took to her new school like fish to water - for the first two weeks only that is. After that, the water dam broke down and she wailed and threw tantrums. Her Mama could not believe her daughter was a "school refusal problem". Then just as suddenly as the water dam broke, it got all fixed again. Yep. Suddenly. "Just like that." And Aisyah was cured. Now, she loves school and her friends and misses her friends when her Mama decided not to send her to school due to her, erm, whale-like condition.
This is Aisyah, all excited on her very first day of school.

After fetching her from school, Aisyah and her Mama would take the bus down back home. Every day, her Mama has to buy for her "something" to eat. This day, it was a bun.

Chinese New Year celebrations were cute. Her Mama bought for her a pink cheongsam and she posed with her friend.

Her Mama is pleased with Aisyah's school. It is small and intimate and all the children know one another well regardless of race or age. In fact, Aisyah's favourite is a little girl from the toddler class. Now, if only Aisyah will learn how to read quickly!
Aisyah Cooks Bee Hoon
Hello, hello. Welcome to my kitchen. The Aisyah and Mama Kitchen. Today, I am going to show all of you how to cook fried Bee Hoon.
First, you must get a comfortable stool to sit on. Next, ask your Mama to pour in oil (she used olive oil here) and then the garlic. I was scared to pour in the oil in case the oil "kena" me.

Next, add in the beef and stir. Then, you add in the prawns and stir. I love the stirring part. Not scary at all. I asked my Mama to put in the pepper and let me stir stir stir. After that, my favourite food - fishballs! I poured in the fishballs and fishcakes.

After stirring quite a bit, it was time to put in the noodles. I love love love noodles!

After the noodles, it was time to cover the wok. My Mama taught me that word - 'wok'. She said in Malay its 'kuali'. I learning to speak my Mother Tongue now you know. So anyway, I ran back to my room to watch TV. I didn't know but while I was in my room, my Mama had put in oyster sauce, water and some more pepper. By the time I came back to the kitchen, she told me to put in the 'sayur' - vegetables.

After that, it was time to cover and I ran back to my room to eat my nutella. My mother called me to beat the egg. We made egg omelette and then I sprinkled the egg on the noodles.

Voila! Our fried Bee Hoon!
